JK Musicals was established in 2022 by Joe Matthews and Krista Stearns, two experienced primary school teachers.
They decided to write a musical for the children they were teaching, keen to provide them with a musical packed with great parts and an opportunity for everyone to shine.

They have now written five musicals, three of which have been performed at their weeklong musical theatre holiday camps, held in the summer and at Christmas. The priority at these camps is to have lots of fun, whilst building confidence. Children who attend have a wide range of experience- some are seasoned performers, whilst others have never performed before.

Krista and Joe were approached by leading publisher the Schools Musicals Company and commissioned to write a new show based on Robin Hood for their 2025 catalogue. ‘Looking Good Robin Hood’, which was performed at their last Summer Camp, will be their first published musical and available for other schools to purchase.
Joe is Head of Music at a large Berkshire school and has been a primary school teacher for more than 12 years. He composes and arranges all of the music. Krista is a class teacher and tutor who writes the lyrics and scripts for each production. They also co-own a tutoring business: www.jktutoring.org
